Look, I’ve already read that millennials have given up on hobbies. Supposedly, they get bored or lose interest. But that’s not what I’m seeing. I feel like everyone around me has a lot of interest in a lot of things. So much interest, in fact, that it’s too overwhelming to call a hobby.

I see non-chefs talking about their knife skills, folks who not only enjoy traveling but have actually published blogs chronicling their adventures, and friends who are either wielding professional skincare tools or starting their own podcasts. Everywhere I look, “regular people” are publishing songs, mastering nail art, speaking multiple languages and selling their wares on Etsy.

As I stumble through another tutorial to complete the simplest of projects with my Cricut, I can’t help but wonder if I’m the only one who is content to have a hobby I will never master.
